Zara began her improv career in San Francisco with a musical improv class at Unscripted Theater. A lifelong lover of theater, she thought taking an improv class would be a "low commitment" way to get back onstage and add some fun to her life.
Zara quickly caught the improv bug, falling deeply in love with this spontaneous art form. She took classes and workshops at Leela and Endgames (both in San Francisco), joining multiple troupes including True Medusa and Sorry Not Sorry (both all female-identifying troupes) as well as Marjorie's Mask and That One Troupe. She also attended improv retreats and did a stint in Arizona with Second Beat Improv.
An ESL teacher by trade (at least before the pandemic), Zara noticed how her improv training benefitted her at work. She became better at public speaking, interviews, and even socializing! (Introvert problems, am I right?)
Zara moved back to Humboldt County in 2022 after many years away, and became determined to share what she'd learned with her community. Nothing delights her more than helping new performers fall in love with improv!
